Recently, a client approached Steelpallet with a common yet specific challenge: they needed to enhance their warehouse environment by integrating a new beam racking system. Their goal wasn't just more space, but smarter, safer, and more organized storage tailored to their unique operational flow.
The Challenge
The client required a pallet racking system that could accommodate new, taller plastic pallets while matching the footprint of their existing ones. Key constraints included:
- A strict ceiling height limit of 4200mm (approximately 13.8 feet) due to internal beams.
- The need for a 2-beam-level structure, allowing 3 levels of product stacking.
- A load capacity requirement of 500kg (about 1,100 lbs) per pallet, meaning 1000kg (about 2,200 lbs) per beam level.
- Installation across two specific spans within their warehouse.
Steelpallet's Solution: The Firack System
Understanding these precise needs, Steelpallet designed and proposed the Firack beam racking system. The delivered solution featured:
- Optimized Dimensions: Racking with an internal length of 2800mm (9.2 feet) and width of 1000mm (3.3 feet), reaching a total height of 4050mm (13.3 feet) – maximizing storage under the height restriction.
- Robust Capacity: Heavy-duty 120x50x1.5mm box beams supported by 90x70x2mm columns, easily handling the 1000kg (2,200 lbs) per level requirement.
- Flexibility: Beam levels adjustable in 75mm (about 3 inches) increments for future adaptability. This makes it a highly versatile stackable racking option.
- Durability & Visibility: A professional electrostatic spray finish with blue columns and orange beams.
